24 hours in Doha

Doha was the first destination on our trip to Southeast Asia in January, we flew via Qatar Airways from São Paulo to Doha and then from Doha to Vietnam. As it was our first time in the city, despite all the tiredness and jet lag, we woke up early and had an intense schedule until we returned to the airport at night.

Summary

Doha: 1 night

The hotel

We stayed at the Park Hyatt, located in Msheireb Downtown, a neighborhood in Doha that is under development, built to be a "smart city" with modern architecture, streets easily accessible by pedestrians and its own train that runs there.

We were very happy with our choice of hotel, at first we thought about staying at the Mandarin Oriental, almost next door to the Park Hyatt, but as it was just a layover, we thought it wouldn't be worth the higher daily rate as we intended to spend the day out exploring the city and we wouldn't take advantage of the hotel.

The Park Hyatt Doha has excellent value for money for what it delivers: hotel structure, service, beautiful and spacious rooms.

The hotel has 187 rooms, the first category starts at 40m2 and accommodates up to three people, with the possibility of placing a comfortable extra bed. The spacious marble bathroom has a shower and separate bathtub and Le Labo amenities.

It also has a gym, swimming pool, spa and meeting rooms. In addition to three restaurants, including the sophisticated Japanese Sora and Opus, an open kitchen concept led by a team formed by famous Qatari chef Shams Al Qassabi and star chef Jean-François Rouquette.
